What's the difference between a Lumatone Mapping and a Preset?

A Lumatone mapping stores your keyboard layout in a computer file, while a preset is loaded onto your Lumatone for easy recall.

You can create unlimited mappings for Lumatone, and save them as .LTN files on your computer, and even share them with others. Saved with each mapping is the following information:

  • Each key's colour
  • MIDI Channel and MIDI Note Numbers of each key
  • Velocity Curves, CC Curves, Aftertouch Curves
  • Polyphonic Aftertouch On/Off
  • Expression pedal settings
  • Light on Keystrokes Feature On/Off

While you can save any number of mappings to your computer in the form of .LTN files, you can also save up to 10 mappings to your Lumatone as presets to the preset buttons. This allows you to recall mappings easily from your Lumatone keyboard without the need for connecting to a computer.

After loading and/or editing a mapping with Lumatone Editor, be sure that is displaying on your Lumatone in Live Mode. Saving a mapping to a preset button is as easy as holding your chosen preset button down for five seconds until it’s LED blinks. Your preset mapping is now saved to a Lumatone preset button for fast recall without a computer.
