Lumatone Editor is still relatively new software, and as such, we still don't know all of the issues you might encounter. One issue that has happened in certain circumstances is connectivity issues between the software and the Lumatone itself.

In most cases, if your Lumatone is connected correctly to your computer, Lumatone Editor should auto-detect it within a few seconds. Give it some time upon launching the application to display the green Connected message in the app's top-right corner.

If it fails to connect after around thirty seconds, something is likely amiss. Here are some things to try.

1. Try manually connecting to Lumatone

In the top-right area of Lumatone Editor, you can click the Auto button to toggle into manual-connect mode. This will provide pulldown menus where you can select your instrument's MIDI Input and Output ports. They'll likely be labeled "Lumatone," but they also may carry the name of the MIDI adapter you have plugged your Lumatone into. If you can't find either, chances are your Lumatone isn't connecting to your computer at all.

2. Troubleshoot Your Lumatone's connection to your computer.

If your Lumatone isn't appearing in Lumatone Editor's list of manual-connection options, it's time to learn how to troubleshoot your computer's connection.
